Elena Tasisto

Elena Tasisto (Buenos Aires, November 24, 1948 – September 20, 2013) was an acclaimed Argentine actress with a distinguished career spanning film, television, and, most notably, the stage. After graduating from the Conservatorio Nacional de Música y Artes Escénicas, she made her acting debut in 1959 as part of the ensemble in The Playboy of the Western World (El farsante más grande del mundo). ​Throughout her career, she established herself as a cornerstone of Buenos Aires theater, becoming a long-standing member of the permanent acting companies at both the Teatro Nacional Cervantes and the Teatro Municipal General San Martín. Among her most memorable and celebrated performances was her role in the 1997 production of Vita & Virginia, which earned her the prestigious Golden ACE Award. In 2004, she was once again honored with the ACE Award for Best Lead Actress for her performance in The Trojan Women (Las Troyanas), directed by Rubén Szuchmacher at the Teatro Coliseo under the auspices of the Konex Foundation.
