Titika Stasinopoulou

Titika Stasinopoulou was born in Athens, originally from Ilia and Arcadia. At a fairly young age, she went to America to study Sociology and Theater. She speaks and translates 4 languages. In Greece, she studied at the Drama School of the National Theater. She made her theatrical debut at the State Theater of Northern Greece, where she was invited by Spyros Evangelatos, in the fall of 1970. Since then, she has begun a long journey in Theater, Cinema, and Television. She acts, directs, and writes. In 1974, the State honored her with the Aien Aristevien for her successful creative career in Greek television, while 32 years later, the Municipality of Athens honored her with the Medal of the City of Athens for her contribution to Greek cinema, and the Municipality of Nafplio in 2008 for her "Artistic and Intellectual Contribution to Greece and our city", while in the summer of 2009, she was honored by the DUBROVNIK Theater Festival in Croatia and by the "Center for Mediterranean Studies of the University of Zagreb" for the great success of the Seminar she taught and the Ancient Drama Workshop, as well as her direction of Euripides' "Medea". While she has taught theater for many years at Drama Schools (Iasmos, Diamantopoulou), Seminars in Cultural Environment (Cultural Policy, Production and Organization of Various Forms of Cultural Events, Design of Museum Exhibitions) at the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training Centers (Accredited Trainer by EKEPIS), and continues to teach theater to this day at the University of Indianapolis, in 2004 she did her Master's Degree at the University of Bedford from where she graduated with honors with a Master of Arts in Theatre Arts and is now doing her PhD in Communication, in England. In May 2008 she was awarded an Honorary Diploma by the Academy of Sciences of Georgia and the Academy of Sciences of Russia. She is also a founding member of the newly established "Euro-Mediterranean Academy of Arts & Sciences" with the duties of Secretary General. Despite her professional activities, she is actively involved in volunteerism and is a member of several organizations (UNESCO Center for Women and Peace in the Balkans, Inter-Balkan Women's Association, etc.) and President of the NGO "White Village", the "International Scientific & Intercultural Center" and the newly established "Intercultural Euro-Mediterranean Center for UNESCO". She has been honored, in addition to the Red Cross, by many Non-Governmental and Voluntary Organizations in Greece and abroad (Italy, Jordan, etc.). She was involved in the preparation and organization of the "New Argonautic Campaign", a very important Intercultural Action aimed at promoting Young Artists, with the collaboration, among others, of the Audiovisual Producers' Company "ARGONAUTS". She was married to the also actor George Papazisis. Their son is "Dimitris Papazisis".
