In 1919, a young Udham Singh witnessed the horrific Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar. Seeing hundreds of innocent civilians gunned down under the orders of Acting Brigadier-General Dyer and sanctioned by the Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, Michael O'Dwyer left a permanent scar on his soul. Amidst the blood and cries, Udham Singh took a solemn oath at the site: he would not rest until the man responsible for this tyranny was held accountable.
