Mr Coker, a wealthy, talented, and charming artist, falls head over heels in love with Jacqueline, a woman profoundly devoted to her Christian faith and to her fiancé, Victor. Because of her strong beliefs and prior commitment, Coker's repeated declarations of love are completely ignored.
